Closure order served on Ballyhaunis bistro

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland reported that four Closure Orders were served on food businesses during the month of January for breaches in food safety legislation, pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998 and the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2010. One of these Enforcement Orders was served on Knox Street Bistro, Knox Street, Ballyhaunis, Mayo.

Two food businesses in Mayo were forced to close during October after closure orders were issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI). The two food outlets — Phoenix Garden Chinese, Bridge Street, Westport and Mr Kebab, Dalton Street, Claremorris — were served closure orders by environmental health officers; Mr Kebab for breaches in food safety legislation, pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998 and Phoenix Garden for breaches of the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations, 2010.

Finbar Hoban Presents, in association with Karen Conway, announces the fourth annual CARI music night fundraiser with music from Kildare group Miracle Bell and Oddsocks Revival plus guests. The event will take place in Bar Ritz, Main Street Castlebar tomorrow evening, October 9.

CARI Rock Ball will be crackers

In association with Finbar Hoban Presents, three bands again will again provide the finest of music while helping to raise funds for CARI (Children At Risk In Ireland). Hosted by Karen Conway, Saturday October 3 at 9pm sees Mulroy's Bar Ritz as the venue for Castlebar's third Charity Rock Ball with Castlebar's Hot Rock, Mother Black Cap, and Galway's 21 Outs. Also on the night there will be a Guitar Hero Challenge and the second CARI Cream Cracker Charity Challenge. The current world record is three crackers (without liquid) in 14.45 seconds and the challengers are attempting to match this record while also seeing how many crackers they can eat in a minute.
